How to mine Zano (ZANO)
Zano is a privacy-by-default blockchain with confidential assets and hybrid consensus: proof-of-work blocks mined with ProgPowZ alternate with proof-of-stake blocks. Its planned "Zenith" upgrade moves the chain to pure proof of stake, which would end GPU mining.
Before pool and miner fees and electricity. Work out the profit for your GPU →
| Algorithm | ProgPowZ |
|---|---|
| Typical unit | MH/s |
| Official site | https://zano.org/ |
| GPUs | AMD, NVIDIA and Intel; Zano's docs require at least 2 GB of VRAM |
1Get a wallet
You need a Zano address to receive what you mine. Use an official wallet:
- Zano app - desktop, mobile and browser extension
Standard addresses start with Zx; integrated addresses with iZ and auditable ones with aZx.
Write the seed phrase down on paper and keep it offline. The miner and the pool only ever need the public address.
2Pick a pool
A pool combines many miners so you get paid steadily instead of waiting to find a whole block. Live fees and payouts for every pool are on the pools table.
| Pool | Server | TLS server | Login | Fee | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HeroMiners | de.zano.herominers.com:1110 | de.zano.herominers.com:1110 | YOUR_WALLET.YOUR_WORKER | 0.9 % (PROP) | from 0.2 ZANO |
| LuckyPool | zano.luckypool.io:8877 | - | wallet as user, worker as password | 0.9 % | from 0.25 ZANO |
HeroMiners regions: replace de with fi, ca, us, us2, br, hk, sg, tr, kr, in or au. The same port takes plain and TLS connections. Solo mining: solo:YOUR_WALLET. LuckyPool ports by rig size: 8866 (15-25 MH/s), 8877 (about 100 MH/s), 8888 (about 200 MH/s), 8899 (over 1 GH/s or NiceHash); regional hosts sg.zano.luckypool.io and ca.zano.luckypool.io; no TLS. Kryptex does not host Zano.
3Pick a miner
| Miner | GPUs | Dev fee | Algorithm name | Download |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SRBMiner-MULTI | AMD, NVIDIA, Intel | 0.85 % | progpow_zano | official page |
| Rigel | NVIDIA | 1 % | progpowz | official page |
| WildRig Multi | AMD, NVIDIA, Intel | 0.75 % | progpowz | official page |
Zano's own docs use TT-Miner for solo mining against a local node; its fee and current GPU support were not checked. BzMiner and lolMiner do not support Zano.
4Set it up
Replace YOUR_WALLET with your address and YOUR_WORKER with a name for this machine. On Windows, save the line as a .bat file in the miner's folder and double-click it. On Linux, run it from the miner's folder.

cd /d "%~dp0"

5Check it works
- Within a few minutes the miner should print accepted shares. Rejected or stale shares above a few percent mean a problem with the connection, the clocks or the pool address.
- Open your pool's dashboard and search for your address. Your worker appears after its first shares; pool hashrate settles over an hour or so.
- Watch temperatures for the first hour: GPU core, hotspot and memory.
Warnings and cautions
Zano-specific
- Proof-of-work is scheduled to end. Zano's Zenith upgrade moves to pure proof of stake and, in Zano's words, PoW mining ends when it activates. Testnet is estimated for Q4 2026 and mainnet for Q2 2027 - do not buy hardware for Zano alone.
- Today PoW and PoS blocks alternate, and holders can also stake.
- For solo mining Zano's docs say to sync the chain first and close the desktop wallet before running zanod.
For every coin
- Download miners only from the official page. Use the GitHub release or website linked in the miner table. Fake miners that steal wallets or mine to someone else are common. Where the developer publishes SHA-256 checksums, compare them before the first start (Windows:
Get-FileHash .\file.zip -Algorithm SHA256; Linux:sha256sum file.tar.gz). - Antivirus warnings. Windows Defender and other antivirus tools flag almost every GPU miner as a "potentially unwanted" program, because malware bundles them. Add a folder exclusion only for a miner you downloaded from its official page and checked, and never turn protection off as a whole.
- Your seed phrase is never needed. A miner and a pool only need your public address. Anyone who asks for your seed (recovery) phrase or private key is trying to steal your coins.
- Power, heat and hardware. Mining runs the card at full load all day. Watch GPU, hotspot and memory temperatures, keep the room ventilated, and do not leave a rig running unattended near anything flammable. A power limit or undervolt usually costs a little hashrate and saves a lot of power. Check that your power supply and cables are rated for the load.
- Profit is an estimate. Price, network hashrate and pool luck change every hour. The calculator shows today's numbers, not a promise. Small coins can be hard to sell, and taxes on mined coins apply in many countries. Nothing here is financial advice.
